So I’ve decided to read the Little Women book back when I’ve heard that a movie was gonna be made with a lot of great actors. And it took me a few years to get around to it, mostly because since 2020 life has been put on pause. What I didn’t realize is that Louisa May Alcott actually wrote a part two for this book and that I’ve only ordered the first part. The book was simple and a bit boring at times as there isn’t much going on really, is just a family’s life from back in the day, so I’m not going to order/read the second part of the story. It took me a few months to get this article up as I’ve read the book and saw the movie in December last year. I really wanted this short review to be posted, even though both the book and movie are better for the cold season and not necessarily for a sunny Spring.

The book was published in 1868, followed by the second volume in 1869, becoming a children’s classic story that is still loved today.

I’ve ended up reading the first volume of Little Women and then moved onto the movie. The movie was released in 2019 and got a lot of attention at that time, and for good reason. It is full of good actors, amazing costumes and a beautiful design which brought the movie six Oscar nominations and one win. From Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, the beautiful talent that is Florence Pugh, the amazing Laura Dern and cute boy Timothée Chalamet, the cast doesn’t dissapoint.

The picture follows the adventures of the March family through different seasons of life, with simplicity and innocence. To me, this story was just okay, nothing special or great. The book bored me, but the movie was cute enough for an afternoon – you can watch it on Amazon Prime if you’re in the UK.
