Hello, darlings! Today I will be telling you about a movie that has been on everybody’s lips lately, and not necesarily in a good or positive way, but certainly a movie that both me and my husband enjoyed quite a bit.

Don’t Worry Darling welcomes us to Victory, a peaceful and colourful neighbourhood, some would say even a bit boring. Through a series of repetitive events and some very peculiar events, we start to realize – alongside the main character, Alice (Florence Pugh, once again being fantastic), that something is not quite right in Victory.

The movie is set in the 1950s and I LOVED the costumes, the design, and the soundtrack music so, so much. Talking about soundtrack, I feel like in this movie the soundtrack made a big difference in how the story unfolded in front of our eyes, leaving the audience breathless through some of the more intense scenes. The acting was beautifully delivered by aforementioned Florence Pugh, and Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine, and the discovery of the night, KiKi Layne.

This psychological thriller was directed by Olivia Wilde, who debuted in 2019 with Booksmart, and is the latest in a series of movies that Wilde will direct in the near future, including a secret Sony/Marvel project. It has been really interesting to watch the development of her career since her role in House and I will be watching closely from now on.

I’ve been waiting for someone like you. Someone to challenge me.
Like a good girl.

I won’t be able to touch on a very important subject without spoiling the ending of the movie, but I’m just going to say that we, as society, are always looking for the perfect life. Perfection doesn’t necessarily mean happiness. 🏡

Thank you to Warner Bros for the special screening of this movie.

Don’t Worry Darling is now in cinemas, and soon on Apple TV+.
